Problems with Promiscuity
There are many problems when it comes to teen promiscuity. These problems include obtaining a sexual transmitted disease or sexually transmitted infection, being at risk of becoming infected with HIV (which could possibly lead to AIDS), and being at risk of becoming a teenage mother.
Having a large number of sexual partners has been linked to poor sexual health and decreased longevity. The more sexual partners one has, the greater their risk of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) like HIV/AIDS and other life threatening conditions like prostate cancer, cervical cancer, and oral cancer.
Why do people have many sexual partners? It's exciting, Fitzgerald says, or, among their peers, it’s a kind of activity that brings them status. Another reason: It helps “them avoid dealing with other challenging emotional issues.” (Chris lliades, MD).

As mentioned before, teen pregnancy is also another serious problem when dealing with teen promiscuity.A poll conducted in honor of World Contraception Day, found that the number of teens having unprotected sex in the US has increased 39% over the last three years (Anna North, 2011). Hence the reason why the number of teen moms in the US has increased as well, which is a result of the lack of condom usage when engaging in sexual intercourse.
